THE PROBLEM
The customer needed a display base with a precise recessed platform that matched a specific model's footprint, plus an engraved nameplate.
REQUIREMENTS
Matte finish. Off-white nameplate insert. Stable base. Custom internal geometry to fit the model exactly.
DESIGN PROCESS
Reference measurements were taken and modeled in CAD. Iterations focused on wall thickness, weight and shadow line.
PROTOTYPE
Two prototype iterations were printed to test the recess fit and the engraved nameplate legibility.
FINAL PRODUCT
PETG matte black with a paper insert nameplate, cold-pressed edges and a soft rubberized foot pad.
